EnergyMenders’ BPI Certified Building Analysts offer quick and painless home energy audits that satisfy Austin’s ECAD (Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure) ordinance. During an energy audit we will inspect your home for common areas of energy loss and provide suggestions where electricity, gas and water usage can be reduced. We will also provide you with information on current Federal, State and City rebate programs, and tax incentives you may be able to take advantage of. It’s hard to beat the value added from home improvements especially when a large portion of the expenses are paid back to you.

A professional ECAD audit involves:

• Testing your ductwork for leakage using a Duct Blower and pressure measurement computer.
• Recording and advising on current attic insulation R-value.
• Evaluating energy transfer through sun facing windows and make recommendations for solar shades or window films where beneficial.
• Calculate heating / cooling system SEER rating.
• Check for adequate weather stripping around doors, windows and attic / wall penetrations.

The completed ECAD evaluation is recorded and a report provided within 24 hours. We also include a post energy audit prescription for cheap and effective home improvements to help you save some green.
