Your Home Energy Audit Professionals:

John Scott

John Scott

John was born in the Scottish town of Lanark (home to the famous William Wallace for a while as well) and grew up in the nearby Clyde Valley just outside Glasgow. His immediate family all work in the horticulture business so having ‘green’ fingers is nothing new to John. He decided to go a very different route though, pursuing an Engineering degree in Electronics with Music at Glasgow University where he graduated with Honours. He started working for the Semiconductor sector of cellphone maker Motorola in East Kilbride, Scotland and has remained with that company (who later spun off to become Freescale Semiconductors) for the last twelve years. He subsequently moved to their headquarters in Austin, Texas and has been there for the last eight years. A passion for real estate as well as a growing interest in the environment (further motivated by two young children) has allowed John to begin this new venture with Steve. Now that he has his Building Analyst Professional certification and is working towards gaining his real estate license and eco broker status, he is excited to be working in this growing business.

Steve Guzmán

Steve Guzmán

Steve was born on a military base in “Rocket City” Huntsville, Alabama. He spent his youth traversing the globe and eventually landed in Orlando, Florida where he received a degree in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Psychology from the University of Central Florida (also where he met his lovely wife, Bella). His years as a computer nerd (first home computer was an Apple][e back in 1985) ended up paying off with a 10 year career in the IT industry. Always a proponent for efficiency Steve spent many hours designing systems to streamline productivity for AT&T Wireless, Lockheed Martin (LMCO), eSchoolSolutions and Automatic Data Processing (ADP). During that span Steve took an interest in boosting efficiencies elsewhere at home and on the road. In 2005 he established a website focused on educating Americans on the joys of efficient transportation; today TheScooterScoop.com is one of most comprehensive scooter and microcar news sites in the nation with over two and a half million page views to date. With that experience under his belt and armed with his BPI Professional Building Analyst certificate, Steve hopes to accomplish the same goal for American households; teach people about the joys of efficient home energy use. Diverse backgrounds with common goals, Steve and John look forward to helping you save some green.
